Engineering & Process Management Details

Nelson provides, internally and through partnership, a holistic framework for Product Development that views the manufactured part with the end use in mind. Nelson assists clients with all or part of the product development process, and brings its in-house experience to bear on every project.

By gaining a full understanding of every products intended use and/or its relation with other components, Nelson can confidently apply the principles of Value Engineering. This discipline reflects Nelson’s intimate understanding of metal fabrication and the implications of various design characteristics on product manufacturability. Products are evaluated to determine ways in which the design may be altered to improve manufacturability without compromising structural integrity, function or cosmetic attributes. Value engineering at Nelson minimizes the need for multiple pre-production iterations, and often results in:  Cost savings, Lower quality risks, Favorable lead times, Improved product performance

Nelson’s state-of-the art ERP software ensures that all functional areas within the company are fully integrated. Our extensive CAD resources, including 3D modeling software, ensure an accelerated product development process. Product files are electronically transferred to programming stations then downloaded directly to the production machines on the shop floor. Our ERP System is designed to support concurrent engineering processes and control flexible production schedules. From product design and order entry, through the manufacturing process, our information systems allow us to maximize resource utilization, trace job progress and ensure aggressive delivery schedules are met.
